Write a narrative essay that includes a brief summary of an incident from a work of fiction-specifically, an incident that serves as a character's initiation into adulthood. In your essay, focus on how the experience helps the character grow up.
Ellie Peirce woke up, and saw blood everywhere. Blood on her hands, clothes, even her hair was matted with dried blood. She looked around wondering what happened, but she already knew who was responsible for the murder of the mutilated Reverend. The exorcism did not work, and that meant that Ellie was still possessed. Around her were the lifeless bodies of a Reverend, and three other men. She was never going to get away form this murder. Ellie's cousins were not going to be able to help anymore. This time Ellie would go to jail. She did not want to spend her whole life inside of a cell, rotting away. Ellie sauntered to her mother's room and took out her father's gun. Before she was caught by the police she was going to kill herself, and end it once and for all. Wails of policemen car were heard before she had the courage to pull the trigger. Her small house was surrounded in a matter of minutes, and Ellie decided that it would be easier if she just walked out of the house with a gun. The policemen were going to shoot her and she would finally be tethered no more to the evil spirit that inhabited her body. Ellie slowly walked towards the front door. Her right foot crossed the threshold and into the soiled snow. Before she fully made it out of the door Ellie blacked out once more. Next thing she knows, she is in prison where she had to stay in for five years before she becomes a death row inmate.
